Support Local Art: Cast Your Vote(s) for Susan Roseman in Martha Stewart’s American Made Competition

You know the “love your local” and “maker” movements have arrived when someone like Martha Stewart is talking about them. Cooptation? Sure. But Martha’s upcoming “American Made Event” is also a great opportunity to support one of the Delaware River Valley’s favorite artists: Susan Roseman.

Many of you know Susan from her Stockton, NJ, gallery, Riverbank Arts, a long-time landmark in the Delaware Valley. But you may also be familiar with her wonderful block prints, which combine an elegant sense of design with priceless wit and wisdom. Susan has entered Stewart’s 2nd annual American Made competition for craftspeople, makers and food entrepreneurs. Winners will be invited to attend an all-day networking event at Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall, in NY, where they’ll have opportunities to learn from (and meet) Martha and a host of other successful creative entrepreneurs and promote their handmade goods to the public.

Susan has entered her new Artie Art line of cards, papers and gifts, which some of you may already have enjoyed picking up at local shops, such as Living Earth, in New Hope, Pa. The artwork is inspired by Susan’s dog Artie, a therapy dog who clearly had a big impact on his family and the many people he helped throughout his life. Winning a place in this year’s American Made Event would help Susan’s latest venture gain the national attention it deserves.

You can help Susan become an American Made winner by:

1. Checking out her work at: http://www.marthastewart.com/americanmade/nominee/81299?site_section=am.

2. Joining the site.

3. Logging on.

3. Voting for Artie Art  — up to six times per day — through September 22.

Category winners will be announced on September 23. The event is open to the public October 16 through 17.
