The 10th annual ‘Spaghetti & Art’ benefit for the Stockton Borough School (Stockton, NJ) will take place Sunday, May 6, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Stockton Inn. This enjoyable yearly gathering of artists, parents and other locals supports New Jersey’s oldest and smallest public elementary school, a four-room schoolhouse that has served the community for well over a century. – Read more

It’s been 42 years since the first Earth Day, April 22, 1970. Organized by then U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin, Earth Day inspired some 20 million Americans to rally at events across the nation for a cleaner, healthier environment. Generally credited with kicking off the modern-day Environmental Movement, the event not only ignited organized political activity around environmental issues but also helped raise the ecological consciousness of everyday Americans. – Read more

Philabundance offers opportunity to share your harvest with neighbors in need

It may seem a bit early to think about harvesting your garden’s bounty. But if you’d like to share some of that harvest with people in need, consider participating in the Philabundance Share the Harvest program. Simply plant an extra row or two of whatever you are growing. Then donate your produce any Saturday between July 7th and September 22nd, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at one of the Bucks County pickup locations: Carousel Gardens, 591 Durham Road, Newtown, PA, or Seasons Garden Center, 1069 River Road, Washington Crossing, PA. Your donations will be distributed to area food pantries. – Read more
